Do you wake up fresh after a good night’s sleep? Or does the alarm interrupt you in deep sleep?
If it is the latter, then it should be clear that you aren’t getting sufficient sleep.
While some people can get by with less, there are others who still cannot get enough. This all boils to an individual’s sleep-wake cycle.
Here’s 3 ways by which you can improve your precious sleep at night:
1: Be careful what you eat and drink
What and when you eat and drink can affect the quality of your sleep. Avoid late dinners and big meals at night too. Sugary and caffeinated foods will ruin a good night’s sleep. Also, avoid spicy, rich, heavy or acidic food within two hours of bedtime.
2: Think about comfort
Making your sleeping environment more comfortable can improve the quality of your sleep greatly. Think about the bed, mattress or even the entire bedroom. This includes even lighting, curtains, colors among other aspects of the room you sleep in.
3: Maintain a regular sleep schedule
A regular sleep schedule is vital. One should not leave rest just for the weekend. Pick a particular time to sleep and wake up. Stick with it throughout the week. As for daytime naps, they interrupt a healthy sleeping pattern. If you must take a nap, then keep it to 10-15 minutes in the afternoon.
