If your trying to eat healthy, prepping your food for the week ahead is an easy way to help you stay on track. Prepping will also save you a lot of time as you will only have to clean, cut and cook your meals once a week. Here are three foods to prep for a healthy week.
Grains – Grains are a healthy base for any meal. Prep dry grains by soaking them in water overnight and then cook them the next day. You can portion your grains and place them in resealable bags for easy access.
Meat – If you prefer to cook your meals before you eat, look at portioning and marinating your meals beforehand. You can then place them in resealable bags and place them in the freezer. You will then have to place your frozen meat in the fridge the day before. For those who have more time on a Sunday, cooking your meals for the week will give you a lot more time during the week and cut down your clean up time.
Vegetables – Vegetables should be part of every meal and are a great way to add fiber and nutrients to any diet. Look at cleaning and prepping your vegetables in advance and portion them for the week ahead. You can also clean and portion vegetables to eat raw with a dip or prep your vegetables for a hearty soup that you can put on the pan as soon as you get home from work.
