As the weather gets colder, most people will find it less desirable to workout, but putting your fitness goals on hold, may mean that all your hard work during the year maybe undone. Here are some simple tips that will help you stay active during Winter.
Change your mind – Winter is a new season, and celebrate the change by revisiting your goals. Look at how far you have come and what goals you want to reach by the end of the year.
Go out and play – Playing can burn calories and still be a lot of fun. Look at heading outside and building a snowman, playing in the snow, or ice skating.
Take up a winter sport – If you are competitive, try a new sport like skiing or snowshoeing which will help you burn a lot of calories.
Get creative at home – Avoid using snow weather as an excuse to miss your daily workout. Look at working out at home with a DVD, do a bodyweight workout, or invest in a few weights to get in your workout at home.
Try something new – Joining a class like indoor volleyball, a dodgeball league, a boot camp class or even tennis lessons at a local indoor club are all great ways to stay active.
Set big goals and some small goals – Stretch beyond your comfort zone and look at losing 10 pounds, running a 5k or completing pull-ups without assistance. Larger goals can then be broken down into smaller goals that can be achieved daily or weekly.
