4 Tips to Stay Fit on Vacation

Just a few days of vacation can ruin all that hard work that you might have put in to get that fit body. Of course, that shouldn’t stop from going on one. However, make commitment to remain in control and as fit as possible.

So, keeping this in mind, here are 4 tips that will help you stay fit while on a vacation:

#1: Get up earlier

You don’t have to wake up at dawn when on a vacation but waking up just a little earlier for a short 15-minute workout can help you feel energized before you move on to vacation activities scheduled for the day. Of course, all these activities will only work as a bonus along with the workout.

#2: Pack healthy snacks

Without a doubt, there are a number of snacks that might be available during your vacation but they are hardly healthy. So, it’s a good idea to pack your snacks before traveling. Some excellent options include beef jerky, snack bars and even trail mix consisting of fruits and nuts as well.

#3: Order healthy foods

Try as much as possible to splurge on dinner instead of other meals during the day. Avoid fattening appetizers. In fact, you can ask your server to omit as much salt, sugar, oil and butter from your meal as possible. Try menu items that have the terms, broiled, grilled, poached, roasted, stir-friend and steamed. Also, try and avoid buffets as much as possible.

#4: Indulge in new foods but with caution

While the idea of going on a vacation is to indulge a bit in new foods or your favorites, try not to make the focus of your vacation. Eat two out of three healthy meals a day with the one meal where you allow yourself to splurge. This will prevent you from feeling deprived when on vacation.
